We offer multiple levels of sedation: nitrous oxide sedation, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. We can discuss which option would be most beneficial to you if you request sedation.
- Nitrous Oxide Sedation (or “laughing gas”) is an in-office option for mild anxiety and most children if needed. This option for sedation does not require the patient to have a driver, and it will allow for the patient to resume normal, daily activities immediately after the appointment.
- Oral Conscious Sedation requires the office to call in a prescription for the patient. You will be given an advised schedule in which to take the medication for safe, optimal sedation while in the office. The patient WILL be required to have a driver to bring them to the office as well as to take them home to care for them until all sedation effects have subsided.
- IV Sedation is our deepest level of sedation and requires us to have a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist come to the office. The patient WILL be required to have a driver to bring them to the office as well as to take them home to care for them until all sedation effects have subsided.
