Crowns are utilized for broken teeth or teeth that have larger areas of decay. These teeth no longer have ample tooth structure to support a filling for restoration and require a crown for proper form and function.

Bridges are a fixed (permanent) solution for a patient missing a tooth or teeth. A bridge is made of crowns attached to a natural tooth on either side of the missing tooth with a pontic (false tooth) creating a “bridge” between those two natural tooth crowns on either side.
